The Christian Education Commission of the NCCSL has the primary mandate of strengthening the Christian faith and commitment very specially among the children and to enhance Christian knowledge among them. The focus areas at present are Sunday schools and State schools, which makes heavy demand on our time, resources and personal.

  • Christian Education in Sunday Schools

This aspect of work is more focused on the faith and commitment of the child to his/ her faith and ensure discipleship and stewardship based on the values of the Gospel. This also enables the church denominations to work together empowering Christian unity and joint witness.

Teaching & guiding the children to learn & apply in their daily lives. To have various & interesting programmes in order to stay connected to the Church & to be involved.

Molding the children according to Christian values which will help them to be a witness for Christ & have a steadfast faith in the Lord. Teachers need to help them experience the concept of grace & faith through showing or doing good deeds. Encouraging the Children to learn the word of God & to share their experiences in the class.

  • Christian Education  in State Schools

This involvement is recognized by the state where they expect the NCCSL to coordinate all matters belonging to Christian Education in state schools in relation to Christianity (Non Roman Catholic) subject.

The focus is more knowledge based empowering children to receive quality Christian and ensure this as rights are accorded to the child as guaranteed in the constitution of the country.

“ Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, I proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; he who teaches, in his teaching; he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who contribution, in liberality; he who gives aid, with zeal; he who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.” (Romans 12: 6- 8)
